Oh my. February was rough.

The subject header says enough.  It was rough.  Because Matt died.  Because it was the start of a new trimester, which means different aches and pains to get use to.  Because of the mass amount of snow being continuously dumped into our backyards.  Because I had managed to turn into some sort of shut-in where I did not do a thing; not even leave my house - unless it was for school.  Rough is, perhaps, an understatement.

And I'm glad this is the final day of February.

Tomorrow is Katy's birthday.  I shopped for her gift last night and found myself falling into the same pattern that I do every year when purchasing her birthday gifts.  It's some sort of a Spring themed thing that I do.  Once I became aware of what I was doing, I realized it was the end of February and it is almost Spring - like - for real this time.

This also means that I really only have about a month or so left of pregnancy.  Which makes me giggle with excitement like a little school girl.  A pregnant school girl, but those are the best kind - right?  Last night, on a shopping spree, Ray and I went to Babies R Us to tie up our baby shopping.  We bought the stroller and the sling that we wanted  - and had $90 left.  We could have bought diapers (we should have bought more diapers) - but neither he nor I had bought anything for Dominic ourselves yet.  We went a little nuts.  I picked out his first pair of Chuck Taylors and Ray grabbed some 30 dollar Colts outfit with Colts baseball hat (we wouldn't normally spend that much money on something like that - so why not buy it with other people's money?).  We bought more books (because I was a bit disappointed with the amount of books received at the baby shower), even batteries (alright, we got a little bit out of control) - but it was fun - and we were really excited in that moment for him to get here.

We got home and Ray put together the Pack N Play and the stroller.  Our house is already looking as though a baby lives here.  The nursery is just about finished and .... well, Spring is just around the corner.

We had a thunderstorm last night and I slept with the window open.  I have been sleeping a bit better as I am getting use to the new aches and pains of this trimester.  All of the rain had melt most of the snow.  Everything seems to kind of be getting back to normal.

Thank god.
